Kloof Conservancy is a voluntary organisation to promote environmental awareness and conserve the natural heritage of the Kloof area for present and future generations.
Our (“Kloof Conservancy’s”) privacy policy covers how we (“Kloof Conservancy”, “us”) collect, use, transfer and store your (“you”, “the user’s”) information. This Privacy Policy applies to personal information provided by you to us via our website for membership, communication, event or competition purposes.

When joining or renewing your membership with Kloof Conservancy, you provide us with personal information such as your name, email address, phone number and address. We use this information to provide you with regular updates on our projects (via email newsletters and the Leopard’s Echo), request assistance at events (we may contact you via your phone number or email address) and map the extent of our membership across Kloof and surrounding areas.
When entering a trail running event organised by Kloof Conservancy or when making a purchase related to such an event (for example, branded running shirts), you provide us with personal information such as your name, ID number, email address, phone number and gender. We use this information to organise these events, ensure your safety during these events (including verifying your age) and to communicate with you about your participation in these events (we may contact you via your phone number or email address). We may also communicate with you by email about future events, but you may unsubscribe from these communications.
From time to time, Kloof Conservancy may run other events (for example, raffles and other such competitions) for which you provide us with personal information. This information is used for organising these events and communicating with you about your participation in these events including to notify winners. How we store, share and transmit your personal information
Protection of your personal information is taken seriously by Kloof Conservancy:
- We use a secure server, making use of the https protocol, and maintain an up to date WordPress installation.
- Any personal information you enter on our website will be deleted from our website within 60 days. Before this time any personal information you enter on our website is only accessible to the Kloof Conservancy chairperson, vice chairperson and webmaster.
- Any personal information you enter on our website will not be transmitted over email.
- We restrict access to your personal information to Kloof Conservancy members who need that information in order to carry out the functions of Kloof Conservancy, including managing membership and organising events. We do not share your personal information with sponsors, partners or other conservancies.

Payfast is a South African online payment processing solution. We use Payfast to process payments made by you when:
- Joining Kloof Conservancy or renewing your membership with Kloof Conservancy;
- Entering a trail running or other event organised by Kloof Conservancy or making a purchase related to such events.

Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service provided by Google to gather, collect and analyse data about the behaviour of visitors to websites.
